**NEW*** Watch videos from the “Active Radio” issue launch here.
Welcome to “Active Radio”, the second issue of Wi: The Journal of Mobile Media. This issue was guest edited by Owen Chapman from the department of Communication Studies, Concordia University, and focuses on the role and place of radio in mobility studies. We have worked hard in tandem with Owen and the authors, and are pleased to bring you an issue that engages with and questions the relationship between radio and mobile practices. In addition to the special issue, we have also included two pieces on locative media projects; one from Edmonton, Alberta (Marilei Fiorelli, Andre Lemos, and Rob Shields) and the other from Hollins, Virginia (Jen Boyle and Alli Crandell). Both projects, although located in places with very different topographies, climates, and histories, convene around matters of affect, memory and survival. Finally, we close with a review of Flo)(ps by Karmen Franinovic, part of Amplified Intimacies, curated by Lynn Hughes and Jean Dubois, Montreal, Fall 2008 (Marie-Helene Lemaire).
